Welcome Back, Friends.

Hello friends and past clients!

It’s me, Ky Sayer. It’s been a very long time (years?!) since I’ve sent out a newsletter and it’s something that I’d like to begin doing again on a regular basis.

So much has changed in my life and my business in the last 4 years, that it’s hard to believe just how much has shifted in that time — including my personal and business names!

For those of you who don’t know, I informally changed my name to Kai de Lune after an incredibly profound vision that I received which brought to me my “true name”. If you’re curious and want to hear the full story, I shared about it on an episode of The Rambling House podcast.

As for my business, I’ve created a branch of Ancient Evolution that I’m working from now: Kai de Lune Astrology & Ancient Arts.

I am now focusing my practice primarily on Astrology, but I wanted to create space for some of my other passions, including:

  • Astrology

  • Teaching & Mentoring

  • Circles & Workshops

  • Meditation & Sound Bath

  • Divination & Dream Work

Here’s what you can expect with this newsletter:

I am finding myself more and more burnt out with Social Media and longing for a space where I can share with all of you, in a way that feels good to me and is energetically sustainable. I am hoping that these newsletters will be that place.

I’ll be honest, they’ll likely be longform writing, (I am a Gemini after all) but I do aim to provide quality information that you want to receive. (Always open to suggestion!)

I intend to have sections devoted to:

  • Astrology Insights

  • Upcoming Events

  • General Business News

  • Life Updates

  • Musings on whatever has captured my interest.

Okay, well…let’s get to it.

ASTROLOGY INSIGHTS

— 7/15 to 7/21 —

Mars Conjunct Uranus continues to be a theme, adding a combustible crackle to the energy around us. Mars here might also give us the push we need to make much needed changes in our life.

The inner planets (Mercury, Venus & Mars) are receiving helpful support from Chiron, the Nodes, Neptune & Pluto — which translates to unearthing new information that will help us step closer toward our ideal life, however that might look.

Mars enters Gemini on Saturday, so any of you with Mars as your Time Lord this year, will receive an extra boost of energy from that sign change.

Sunday is the Full Moon at 29°28' Capricorn, asking us to revisit some of the themes from the last FM.

THE ASTROLOGY & ANCIENT ARTS PODCAST

Yup, I’ve rebranded & relaunched my astrology podcast!

With this podcast, I’m really wanting to cultivate a space where you can listen & receive in-depth astrological insights on the New Moon, the Full Moon and other astrological related topics.

My vision is to interview other people to talk about, not only their life experiences but how they relate to transit timing in astrology.

I also want to just share all of the mysterious things in life that I experience, read about or ruminate on, so I anticipate there will also be episodes dedicated to non-astrological content. Things like, spirituality, psychic experiences, ancestry, pagan practices, dream work, the unexplainable…really anything that piques my interest.

If any of those things sound like something you’d want to listen to, please take a moment to follow & subscribe.

LIFE UPDATES

LITHA SEASON:

Okay, summer has always been my favorite season. I love the heat. I love being able to wear a minimal amount of clothing and still feel warm and comfortable. I love the extended daylight hours and being able to explore the natural world while it’s lush and abundant.

In fact, there’s very little that I don’t truly, deep down in my heart of hearts, love about summer. BUT, all that being said, the last four years, this season has been the hardest for me to navigate in a post-pandemic world. Mothering two children through the summer season while running a business and a household single-handedly as well as continuing with my personal growth practices, has been nothing shy of a monumental feat.

I think I’ve struggled the most with the contrast of how much I LOVE summer and my emotional landscape during my favorite season these past few years. All of that to be said — I think there’s an enormous amount of value that can be found in offering ourselves grace to move through experiences in ways that are different from the past.

My personal transits have recently felt like relentless waves crashing against rocks that won’t let up long enough for me to fully catch my breath. BUT the knowledge that I am moving through a period of time in my life that will undoubtedly bring radical change AND ALSO that it won’t last forever, has been a true guiding light. (Thank you astrology!)

So, if you’re feeling a similar way — I see you. I love you. You’re not alone.

EDUCATION:

I am headed to Colorado in September to attend my first ever astrology conference and I couldn’t be more thrilled! At this conference I will be deepening my education around:

  • The Lot of Fortune & Spirit.

  • Progressed lunar phases.

  • The balsamic lunar phase in a natal chart.

  • The healing potential of challenging lunar aspects.

  • Sect Light & how it colors a natal chart.

  • The Moon & unlocking intimacy.

I can’t wait to incorporate what I learn in my client sessions!

Astro U: I am currently in my 3rd year at Astrology University and am learning about complex patterns in a chart, including the Yod, Grand Trine, T-Square and Kite patterns.

** Do you have any of these aspect patterns in your natal chart? **

If so, I would love to offer you a discounted session (15% off), exploring these patterns in your chart & life experience. Simply reach out below.

CREATIVE WORKS:

Last September I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Greece and spend nearly two weeks with truly wonderful people, exploring the history, culture, magic and the wonder of such a rich place. Not to be dramatic, but that trip changed me on a core, fundamental level.

When I returned to the states, I knew that it would take some time for me to process and integrate all of the experiences from that one trip. What I wasn’t expecting, was the — fairly forceful — download I received during the eclipse cycle that October, that I was to write a book about it.

In all honesty, it took me the next 4 months to get myself to a place where I believed I could actually do this. I mean, a lot of therapy and a lot of recognizing intrusive thoughts and limiting beliefs.

It’s been a slow process, because I’m learning as I go.

But, as of today (about 7 months after I started) I’ve written over 32k words. What?! That’s close to 100 printed pages, which blows my mind.

Let me tell you something. I have no idea what this manuscript will turn into, but the creative process of writing, exploring, stretching way past comfort zones, tapping into an internal creative force I thought I’d lost access to, has been astounding.

Something was seeded when I was in Greece and this process of writing feels like the gestation of that seed. I don’t know what will happen once it’s done and ready to be birthed into the collective, but this process is changing me.

I cannot wait to see what the future of this project brings.

BOOKS:

Apparently, I can’t send out a newsletter without including what books I’m currently reading.

For School:

  • Ancient Astrology by Demetra George. This is an mid-level instructional manual on Traditional Astrology practices. I’m finding myself more and more interested in traditional astrology and it’s been a fun book to explore.

  • Retrograde Planets by Erin Sullivan. This is my second time reading this book. It goes into the exploration of retrograde planet meanings and how we can work with them. It’s a mid-level book.

For Leisure:

  • The Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn. Yes. I got sucked into watching the new season on Netflix and then immediately thought, I should read the books and then watch the accompanying season again. So that’s what I’ve been doing. I’m currently on Book 4: Colin & Penelope’s Story with Book 5: Eloise’s Story waiting in the wings.

It’s been a lovely little romance series to enjoy at the end of the day. There are some parts where I have to roll my eyes at the blatant misogyny and how the author has written women as property — but I’m trying to look past it because I know it’s historically accurate for the time frame…

    …and I love a good romance.

MUSINGS

Almost exactly a year ago, I had a dream-vision where I met King Arthur. — WHAT?! — It was wild and a story I’ll tell another day. Maybe on a podcast episode!

Since then, I’ve been slowly beginning a process of learning about Arthurian Legend, particularly around Avalon. Now, when I say slowly, I mean at a snails pace. This exploration hasn’t been rushed, but a slow simmering of uncovering and gentle inquiry.

My ancestry is primarily a mix of British, Irish, Danish & German. With the majority being rooted in regions of the United Kingdom.

So, to have had a meeting with such a prominent figure of my ancestral heritage felt important. It felt like perhaps my ancestors were reaching out to me through that dream-vision, inviting me to learn about their folklore.

Uncovering the pre-Christian, pagan practices that I imagine my ancestors participated in is something that has been on my mind for years. I have a deep desire to learn how my ancestors connected to the land. How they honored their chosen deities, what remedies they used, what they believed, how they practiced medicine and magic…so that I can begin to integrate parts of that into my own practice.

I can’t help but feel that as I ease myself into this process, there will be an awakening of something carried within my blood. Something that’s been dormant, just waiting to be honored.

In all honesty, I don’t really know where to start.

So far, I’ve learned that rosemary was likely used as a clearing and cleansing herb.

I’ve stopped using sage and palo santo for that purpose, because my blood doesn’t carry the heritage of the cultures that use those plants.

Instead, I planted a rosemary bush in my garden. I’ve been harvesting and drying sprigs for cleansing and let me tell you…the first time I burned some to clear out my energy field, my spirit SANG. It was as if my spirit was saying, yes, yes, yes, this is it! This is right, this is what we’ve been looking for!

What a simple but potent example.

Calling in more of that, please.

Thank you!

If you’ve made it to the end of this lengthy newsletter, thank you! It is a privilege to be in your inbox, to share my thoughts and offerings with you and it’s one I don’t take lightly.

I hope that this communication has found you well and that the next few weeks are filled with just the right thing.

With love & rumination,

Kai de Lune
