Pisces Full Moon Eclipse
Podcast Episode 14 Transcripts:
Hello, and welcome to the Astrology and Ancient Arts podcast.
I'm your host, Kai de Lune.
All right, so, as always, let's get started with the technicalities of this Full Moon.
We are entering into the window of the Pisces Full Moon, which is a partial Lunar Eclipse and it's opening up the second and last Eclipse season of 2024.
This Full Moon is happening at 25 degrees, 40 minutes of Pisces, which automatically means that the Sun is opposite at 25 degrees, 40 minutes of Virgo.
So this is activating that Virgo - Pisces house axis.
The Full Moon is happening on September 17 at 08:34 p.m. mountain standard time.
Okay, so this Full Moon is a little bit different because it is an Eclipse .
So the first thing that we're going to do is we're going to find where this is all happening in your chart.
So we want to take a look at where your Virgo and your Pisces house axis is, and then take a look to see if you have any planets or points around that 25 degrees of any of the mutable signs, which is going to be Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo, and Pisces.
If you do, then this Full Moon is going to be activating your chart in a fairly significant way.
Now, a Full Moon is always a time of culmination.
It's a time where we're able to see the fruition of the seeds that we've planted, either at the beginning of this lunar cycle or if you wanted to even go a step further.
Sometimes people will take a look at what they were working on or what they were trying to manifest or call in during the New Moon of that same sign that happened six months prior.
So, for example, this is the Pisces Full Moon.
So, six months ago, we moved through the Pisces New Moon, and you could take a look, if you wanted to, to see what was going on in your life during the Pisces New Moon that happened six months ago.
Now that we're at the Pisces Full Moon time, this is a period of time where the seeds that were planted six months ago are culminating and coming into fruition now.
But this is a little bit different, because this isn't a normal Full Moon, right?
This is an Eclipse .
So this Full Moon is very close to the North Node, and so it's automatically talking about sort of ushering us through some type of emotional growth or calling us forward into what it is that we're ready to grow into or what it is that we're ready to experience when we have an Eclipse on the North Node, it's always about moving ahead in some way and trusting the process that we're going to be moving through that will help us to do that moving ahead.
But this is interesting because the Full Moon is activating the Pisces Virgo axis, but the lunar nodes are not in Pisces and Virgo, they're actually in Aries and Libra.
The thing that I find really interesting about this is that Pisces is the very last sign of the zodiac.
It's the culmination and the ending of the progression of signs, right?
And then we have Aries.
That is the very first sign.
It's the initial push toward a new beginning, toward something new.
So we have this energy or this feeling of just the Full Moon being on the North Node and that telling us that we're ready to step forward into something, we're ready to grow towards something new.
We have the sign activations that's kind of speaking symbolically towards wrapping up something, ending or completing something, and also beginning something new, which I just find really interesting.
Eclipse cycles are a time where we're able to see things and receive messages and intuitive hits and all of these, like, more subtle body things.
We're able to recognize symbols and messages that we're not able to see or recognize at any other time of the year.
All right, so this is my go to metaphor for Eclipse seasons.
So if you're somebody that has been listening to me talk about astrology for a while, I'm certain that you have heard this before.
When we're talking about an Eclipse , I like to imagine my very favorite room.
I have decorated this room.
I have put all of my belongings and my special items and created a really beautiful space, and it's something that I'm really, really familiar with.
Now, this room, I could have memorized where everything is.
The furniture, the photos on the walls, you know, the altar items, whatever it is, I know intimately where everything is.
Walking into this room during the daytime is going to look different than walking into this room at night, right?
During the day, we can see everything clearly because we have sunlight.
During the night time when the Sun has set and we really only have Moonlight or starlight or maybe some artificial light from outside, like a street lamp or something like that that is illuminating the space.
It looks different, but we can still navigate it, right?
We still know where everything's at.
We can still see, generally see, like, where the furniture's at or where.
Where the decor is at, you know, it's.
It's something that we're still familiar with.
Eclipse seasons are, like shutting the curtains, closing the blinds so that it's pitch black and then turning on, like, a black light, and then all of a sudden, we're able to see all of this stuff that is not visible to the naked eye.
Even during the light of day, we still can't see what will be shown when we turn the lights off and turn a black light on.
So we're provided with brand new information that it might not be something that is, you know, completely new, but it's new to us.
It is new information to us.
If you turn a black light on in a room and then you see something that you hadn't seen before, it doesn't mean that that thing just appeared out of nowhere in that moment.
It could have been there for a long time, but you're now just receiving the tool or the ability to be able to see and notice that thing, so it's new to you.
It's new information, and that's exactly how Eclipse cycles work.
It almost feels like our psyche becomes turned on, in a way, during an Eclipse season so that we can receive information that otherwise would be inaccessible to us, which I think is a really, really important function of the cyclical process that we move through every six months.
Now, this particular Full Moon Eclipse is going to be really potent and really powerful, and this is because the Sun and the Moon are in conversation with both the traditional and the modern rulers of this Moon.
So we have the Full Moon in Pisces, the traditional ruler is Jupiter, and the modern ruler is Neptune.
The Sun and the Moon are having conversations with both of these planets, which automatically will turn up the volume of this lunar energy.
To make that even stronger, the Moon is conjunct Neptune.
So we have the Sun and the Moon, which are opposite in the sky.
We have the Moon that is conjunct Neptune.
When the Moon is conjunct to Neptune, it's automatically going to make our emotional bodies feel highly sensitive.
So our emotional, our physical, and our psychosomatic parts of ourselves, that emotion body connection that is symbolized by the Moon has merged with this higher, imaginative, but immaterial energy that is Neptune.
Now, this can indicate the potential for us to be able to access psychic information.
When I say psychic information, I mean anything that is extra sensory.
Neptune generates this extra psychic sensitivity because of the permeability it creates within our subtle senses.
So this is our emotion or the senses that we carry that are outside of our physical senses.
So our emotion, our intuition, our sudden insight, those types of things, it can support a shift in our state of consciousness that flows through the emotional functions, right?
Sometimes if we're like, if you're somebody that is naturally attuned to Neptunian functions, this could feel really exciting.
It could feel really good.
It could feel really supportive.
If you're somebody that is not, if this is a completely foreign feeling to you, it could feel overwhelming very, very quickly.
And so we want to be mindful about how our emotions in our body is feeling during this lunation, because it can push us into emotional overwhelm very, very quickly.
Oftentimes when we feel emotionally overwhelmed, we dip into sort of the Neptunian shadow side of numbing out or escapism or something along those lines in a way that is not helpful.
Sometimes we need to have, like, a veg out day where we just, like, hang out in bed and watch Netflix and eat good food and relax, right?
That's not what I'm talking about.
What I'm talking about here is escapist tendencies to avoid what it is that we're feeling so that we don't have to confront our own emotional landscape.
When Neptune is involved, we are always being asked to surrender to the unknown in some way.
That can feel scary.
It can feel really disorienting, and it can be incredibly challenging to try and allow ourselves to release control.
But that is what Neptune is usually asking this conjunction, because not only is it the Moon, which is connected to water, it's conjunct Neptune, which is connected to water, and it's in a water sign of Pisces.
So look to water to be an ally.
The water element is going to support us here.
This could be something like getting into water physically, like taking a bath or getting in a hot tub or going to a lake or the ocean or hot spring or something like that, it could also just be drinking more water, making sure that you're physically staying hydrated.
Or if you're somebody that does water magic, which I really like to participate in, it could be doing some water magic during this Full Moon with the intention of creating support in some way.
Now, the Sun and the Moon and Neptune are all square Jupiter.
So this is creating a t square aspect, and this t square aspect is pointing towards Jupiter.
Let's kind of break this down, because we all know that t squares have the potential to be fairly challenging.
So Jupiter is connected to our faith to optimism, our ability to imagine a life that is the ideal version for ourself.
We're thinking here, like independence, optimism, the overarching vision of peace and abundance.
Jupiter is also connected with the law and the morals and ethics that we abide by within the structures of a Saturnian world.
I sort of view the Jupiter connection to law as what is the ideal version of how we can live together in a society in a way where everyone can feel supported and connected, and that we are creating an environment or a society or a structure that helps us to create sort of like a balanced world of equality, you know, and maybe that's getting more into Uranian territory, I don't know, but it feels that way to me.
Whatever is going to be coming up for us during this Full Moon Eclipse cycle, we might feel tension that will require us to take action in some way, right?
Because this is a t square.
It's a closed loop of energy.
You can imagine that, like the Sun, the Moon, Neptune and Jupiter are all in a room together, and there's a problem that they're all trying to flesh out, but they're all arguing with each other.
It’s like everybody has a different perspective and point of view, except for maybe the Moon and Neptune, because they're conjunct.
So there's friction here, there's tension, and we need to be able to figure out a way to solve the problem.
That tension is generating energy and pushing us or urging us to take action or to find a solution in some way.
With Jupiter wherever talking about belief systems, right, like Jupiter is the meaning making capacity within our psyche.
So we are bringing new information that we are receiving from this Eclipse , and we're being challenged to figure out what we believe about the messages that we're receiving.
What do we think about them?
What do we believe about them?
Do the messages that we are receiving, does that change something about our fundamental beliefs in some way?
That we then have to shift our internal laws in some way?
We all have rules that we have created for ourselves or that other people have created for us.
Those rules create the structure of how we navigate the world.
This configuration makes me wonder, is there something we are now seeing that we haven't been able to see before that is challenging us to change those rules in some way or to reevaluate our own morals or our own ethical standards in relation to the new bit of information that this Eclipse is bringing in?
However, this is showing up for you a key piece of how we can navigate Jupiter activations like this is to remember that when we're navigating something related to Jupiter in this way, we have to do so with maturity.
This is sort of that Jupiter Saturn pair and how they balance each other out.
So if we're feeling too pushed over into, like, the expansiveness of the Jupiterian energy, we call in a little bit of that maturity to be able to ground us so that we can navigate whatever it is in a way that makes us feel supported still.
Now, we're not quite done with this t square yet, because Jupiter is also square, Neptune and this has the potential to make us feel like the progress and the improvements that we've been making so far in our life are being unraveled or being erased in some way.
Right? Because Neptune disintegrates, it erases the boundaries that we have created and so it might feel a little bit like an unraveling is taking place.
Jupiter wants to connect and bring things together to make a greater whole, while Neptune wants to erode the boundary of what we have known to be true so that we have the possibility or the potential to transcend that.
Right? Like, this is the fundamental energy of growth.
In order to be able to grow, we have to move past what is known, what we're comfortable with.
Neptune sort of throws us into the deep end, so to speak and without the edge of the pool to be able to cling on to, we have to figure out how to navigate that space.
We have to figure out how to swim.
Then once we do, a whole new world has been opened up to us, right, because we're not landlocked anymore.
Now we can move in the water and we can swim and explore something that we didn't have access to before.
But on the shadow side, Neptune can push us toward an unrealistic, idealized version of a dream or a desire that we might have, and then Jupiter will expand that, right?
So it could potentially be that we are clinging onto this idealized version of something that really is unrealistic for the reality that we live in.
But with the square energy, we might also be pushed to find a solution that will work in getting us closer to that ideal.
So maybe it's not like manifesting or creating that picture perfect scenario that we have in our mind that might not really actually exist in this world, but maybe it is instead pushing us to take steps towards something that will feel expansive and feel fulfilling and will sort of satiate that inner longing, but in a way that can actually be built or created in this life.
Now, with all t squares, we do have a release point for any of stuck energy or any energy that feels too pressurized.
So that release point is going to be the mid to late degrees of Sagittarius.
So I would say, you know, if you have any planets or points from, like, 20 degrees to 29 degrees of Sagittarius, it's within the range of being, like, an ally or a helper planet in this situation.
If you don't have any planets in Sagittarius, that's okay, too.
We can just lean on the energy of Sagittarius to help us release some of this other tension that potentially could have been built up.
Sagittarius energy is going to lean towards enthusiasm and adventure and exploring new experiences.
It is the sign that supports us in expanding our awareness through having experiences that we then learn from.
So in using Sag energy as sort of a release point for this t square, it could be that you look to have new experiences in the Sagittarius area or realm of life, where that sag house is. It could be that you put yourself in more of a student role in that area of life, and then you learn something that helps support the release of this tension, of this t square.
Regardless, it kind of speaks to kind of getting out of our head, getting out of our emotions, and connecting with experiential learning.
Go out into the world and do something new, and then think about what you learned from that experience and how that can help support you in whatever it is that's coming up for you during this Eclipse season outside the t square that's happening here.
The Sun and the Moon are also involved in what's called a kite pattern.
Now, this is really interesting.
A kite pattern is basically a configuration that involves a grand trine and a talent triangle that are all connected together.
So this is involving a lot of different planets.
What I find really fascinating about this is that it involves the Sun and the Moon and all of the outer planets.
So we have the Sun, trine, Pluto, Pluto, trine, Uranus, and Uranus trine, the Sun, and then we have the Sun opposite the Moon and Neptune.
We have the Moon and Neptune, sextile Pluto and Uranus.
So it's creating this sort of diamond like shape.
The kite pattern is one of manifestation.
This is like a combination of all of the best supportive conversations and aspects that we have in astrology.
So when we combine them all together, it's a really potent and powerful manifesting resource.
So not only is this Full Moon Eclipse providing us with new information, to be able to take with us as we're moving into that next step of our life and our growth pattern, but also it's providing us with the energy support that we need in order to manifest what it is that we are trying to call in that, like, ideal version that Neptune is trying to focus our attention on with that t square.
So let's break down all of the conversations that are happening within this kite pattern.
The Sun trine, Uranus, and the Moon, sextile Uranus, is going to be creating a supportive energy, but it is going to be this powerful, lightning like inspiration, right?
Uranus is that lightning strike of intuition, of inspiration, that ability for us to be able to have those moments of pure clarity that inspire us to do something or inspire us to change in some way, to break free of the bondage or the limitations that have been keeping us small.
This is happening in a supportive way, so not in a struggle, I have to work really hard to break those chains, but rather, the chains are just going to unlock and fall off and then we have access to this really powerful Uranian energy that is really going to be supporting our overall identity in some way.
The Sun is trying Pluto, which is definitely an aspect of empowerment or something that is emboldening us to do something.
It can support us in the transformation of our inner psyche in some way.
When we're talking about the Sun, we're talking about who we are, we're talking about our identity.
Pluto, in a helpful, positive, support, supporting conversation, is emboldening and empowering us to transform in some way.
Now, Uranus is also trying Pluto, and that's going to support sudden breakthroughs of our individuality that supports the ownership of our own personal power.
This is enabling us to not only break free of those chains, right?
But then to reclaim the power of sovereignty that we have in our own life.
The Uranus Pluto combination does hold the potential to push things to the limit.
So it is possible that we might see some explosive energy in the collective, but this could be a really positive and supportive and helpful thing in the long term, even if it might look a little fiery in the moment.
Now, on the end of the grand trine, we have Pluto and Uranus sextile, Neptune.
You know, this is really interesting because it's all three of the outer planets, and they're all in supportive contact with each other.
The outer planets are emissaries.
They are things outside of the innate structure of our psyche as human beings.
They're different energies than like the inner planets are.
The inner planets represent what makes us us as individual beings.
The outer planets push us towards evolution.
They push us towards growth.
They do that in a way that feels like it's coming from outside of us in some way, but that changes who we are on a foundational level.
So with all three of these outer planets at the base of this kite pushing their energy toward the Sun, it really is speaking to almost like a huge evolutionary push towards the embodiment of our identity in a way that we have not yet been able to grasp a hold of before.
Now, this is really powerful, you guys.
This is a really, really potent Eclipse .
You know, in a kite, we look towards the opposition to show us what will help us develop or manifest whatever energy is being held here.
Right? And the opposition in this kite is, on one end, Neptune and the Moon, and then on the other end, the Sun.
So it really almost speaks to not only having to turn within to understand what the ideal version is for ourself, which is very much connected to Neptune and the Moon, but also to begin living that ideal within ourselves internally first, before we start to see it play out in the world around us, but also keeping our identity in the central focus.
This kite is pointing towards the Sun.
So our identity and the growth and evolution of how we relate to our own identity is shifting and changing here, and it needs to be held within that central stage.
Okay, so we have one more t square that I want to talk about.
This t square involves the lunar ruler Jupiter and it also holds the tightest aspect of this chart, so it makes it important.
This t square is between Mercury, which is in Virgo, opposite Saturn, which is in Pisces.
So again, it's underscoring that Virgo, Pisces house axis, and they are also squaring Jupiter in Gemini.
Mercury, opposite Saturn, is the tightest aspect of this chart.
So here we have our mind, our thoughts, how we communicate to other people, how we take information and conceptualize it.
We have that opposing Saturn, which represents the concentrated experience of life in a physical body on the material plane.
So this can oftentimes feel like we're running into obstacles. It can feel like limitation or like we have to do work in some way.
With this opposition, we might feel like our patience is being tested in some way.
Mercury is squaring Jupiter, and Jupiter is in Gemini. So it has to follow the rules of Mercury.
Here we have something that might generate a little bit more scattered mental energy.
Jupiter wants to do a lot of things at once, especially in Gemini. And that can lead to sort of a frenetic mental energy that is trying to have too many touch points and is not focused enough on one specific thing.
Saturn, square Jupiter, I feel like, is actually a fairly supportive combination because they are kind of like a pair.
They're both of the middle planets, and they work really well to balance each other out.
Saturn's pressure here in this t square is helpful in pushing us toward actually doing the work that's required, required of us in order to develop a deeper level of experience or of understanding whatever it is that we're working on, rather than something that is surface level or superficial.
So this t square is generating this energy that is pulling in our mental functions in a way that might feel a little bit overstimulating.
Again, this t square is pointing towards Jupiter, so Jupiter is the focal planet, and it's asking us to reconnect ourselves with that ideal.
What is it that we believe about the experiences that we're having for this Eclipse season so far?
If we are feeling the opposition between Mercury and Saturn as limiting or as something that is depressing our mental functions, how can we tap into an inner sense of confidence or enthusiasm that will allow us this self compassion to be able to balance out that opposition and pull on or call on the higher expressions of Mercury, Saturn, which would be something along the lines of becoming our own inner authority, our own authority over our mental functions?
What we think about ourselves cannot be knocked down or discounted by what anybody else thinks, because what we think about ourselves is the strongest element here.
You know, if we're able to tap into an energy like that, where we have such strong and unwavering self confidence and self worth, that it doesn't matter what's happening in the external world that provides us with a very unique sort of wealth.
To have that type of mental wealth would be incredibly supportive and powerful and something that you could utilize and use as a tool to help you navigate any situation in life.
There is a potential to help us create that or to help us lean more into our own potentials in that way.
This Full Moon Eclipse definitely has the signature of really profound personal growth, and it almost feels like a surge toward the next step of our own evolutionary process, which is very exciting.
There's a lot going on with this Full Moon.
The only things that are happening outside of what we've already talked about, we have Mars that's squaring the nodal axis.
So there is definitely a drive toward releasing the past and stepping into the future here, especially leaning more toward stepping into the future because Mars is ruling the North Node at this time, so we're going to feel that energy.
We're going to have that vitality to make some of the moves that we are feeling called to make.
And then we do have Venus that's opposing Chiron.
This is happening on the Aries Libra house axis as well.
So there almost is, like, an energy of taking what we want and what's helpful and supportive from our past, but then releasing the rest and stepping into our future.
As someone that is the expert of our own lives, Chiron energy is very connected to, like, our inner wounding and things like that, but it also is connected to our inner expertise, our mastery.
Chiron was the most skilled healer in all of mythology.
He taught a lot of heroes how to navigate the world successfully.
So Chiron in Aries here is teaching us how to tap into our own innate skillset and how we can cultivate that as a way to be able to be successful with where we're going in the future.
Okay, so because this Full Moon is a part of an Eclipse cycle, this energy is going to be lasting longer than just, you know, the few days before and after the actual Full Moon happens.
But it's going to blend and merge over the next two weeks with the New Moon that will close out the Eclipse cycle, and then we'll be feeling the effects of this cycle for a really long time to come.
That's just kind of how Eclipse s work. Like, they seed something or instigator, start something new within ourselves, within our life, and that thing continues to spiral out for a really long time to come.
So Eclipse s are really important, powerful moments within our own connection to the greater cycles of the Sun and the Earth and the Moon and the solar system that we live in, that's our home.
So this Full Moon is starting something big. It's starting something important.
However you experience it, I hope that you're able to recognize what is coming through for you and how to implement it into your life in a supportive way that feels empowering and expansive and supportive to your identity in some way.
All right, my friends, happy Full Moon.
Happy Eclipse season.
Until next time.
Bye.
